Epilators
They pull multiple hairs at once with rotating tweezers. Results last like waxing, two to four weeks, but the sensation is more intense and ingrown hairs are common. Good for a cheap one time buy, not a cycle ender.
Depilatory creams
Chemicals dissolve hair at the surface. Painless and fast, but results barely outlast shaving, the smell is strong, and sensitive skin often reacts. A travel backup at best.
Threading and tweezing
Precise for small areas like brows and upper lip, but far too slow for legs or larger zones.
Where IPL sits
None of the above reduce regrowth. They all deal with hair that returns at full strength. IPL is the only one on the list that works at the root to slow regrowth over sessions, which is why it is the one that ends the chore rather than repeating it, provided your skin and hair are a match for the light.
